Research | Plants: Aloe Vera II

After meeting upon some challenges on the Aloe Vera farm, I started to think about dissolving the initiative and minimizing my losses for executing the project.

I went by some local plant and floral shop and inquired of the price for the Aloe Vera plant. I complemented this inquiry with some online research. I've learnt that a mature Aloe Vera plant cost about US$16 (or at the time of this writing J$2,000).

While finding out the cost for a mature plant, I discovered that the FA discourages use of herbicides on the plant or the soil in which the plant grows. Herbicides are known to make the leaves of the plant less succulent and, therefore, weighing less.

I have postponed (may eventually abandon) this project.

The soil has three main purpose: retain water for the plants, provide nutrients to the plant and give physical support to the plant. Soil contains many minerals in it that is vital for plant growth.
